    Red face noob bilge question

    Thanks for looking.

    My Raider gets wet,alot.
The previous owner modded the bilge tube, I think
    Look at this link:

    http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....pe=13&A=43&B=9

#32 is flush inside the pump nozzle.

Should this protrude to provide the vacuum?
The bilge dosen't function atm, I tried reconnecting it because I couldnt fathom it not working being as its such a simple principle, but it still dosent work.

Thanks in advance for your time.

    welcome to the forum

if that tube is cut flush inside the pump, it will fill your ski with water. disconnect the nose and plug it.

There should be a check valve in there, i believe it is part 9 on this cut

    Thanks for the replies.....

So if the tube dosent protrude into the squirt-stream it won't suck. Is that correct?

Well, IF it is correct couldn't I just drill out the old pipe OR install a smaller diameter pipe thru the old one to achieve vacuum that way?

I'm fairly positive that the previous owner didn't monkey with the bilge line that far up into the hull. The strainer and all associated plumbing seems to be intact. IDK But I'm kinda' thinking the check valve is in place, But I'll check.

I know I could just drop $100 and put a electric on it but it seems like such a simple system that I'd like to restore it to stock, ykwim?

Thanks again for your time and I'm sure my questions seem noobish but thats because I am.=P

    EDIT:

Also, the little rooster tail squirt is just for visibility???

the check valves have a duck bill inside that often tear I had to replace all of the ones on my 3 yami's and yes you could make it work again but you would need a measurement to go buy? I wonder why it was tampered with? I know I pulled the nipples on my Polaris when I bored the nozzle they were press fit and held in with locktite so a torch made them easy to remove

I was refering to the duck bill in the factory check valve not the drain plug replacment type ( just to be clear)
