Rebuilding my Carbs. AGAIN! Please chime in ... POP OFF and Springs Yama1200xlt 2005!

Rebuilding my Carbs. AGAIN! Please chime in ...
So Im going to rebuild the carbs again..using the Kits I just put in.. I want to make sure I get rid of ANY corrosion and leftover SALT... Ive been reading alot about pop off pressure and have determined that it is VERY important for proper operation, and to COMPLETELY CLEAN your Carb. you MUST REMOVE the HIGH and LOW SPEED SCREWS!

SO...with those in mind im going in..... Does anyone have some tips on The what springs I should use and the correct pop off pressure is for a 2005 Yamaha 1200 XLT?? I want to get this right...finally.

    Thanks!

    110 Pilots
    125 Mains
    1.5 Needle and seat
    95 Gram Spring (dull silver)

This will give you low to mid 40's pop off. You also want to disable or remove the accelerator pump. set the low speed screw at 1 turn out and high speed at 1-1/2 out. if you are running stock air cleaner run a 115 pilot jet.

Yep it negates the ability for it to perform and screw up your properly set carbs.

What is a good vendor for Jets? I currently have the Stock Jets installed and the stock Flame Arrestor.... what are your suggested replacements? Eventually I would love to improve performance...but right now Im just trying to get this thing to run reliably-ish..and with at LEAST stock performance.

    T-Handles...

Are T-Handles on Stock Carbs or are they purchased to replace high and low speed screws? Ive never actually seen a clear answer....thanks!

T-handles are an upgrade and require drilling out the tamper evident caps. there are some threads on this. you can buy them here http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=548

and for the record I think I have mentioned upgrading to t-handles at least 100 times on this forum
