I use a garmin colorado 400. Works nice, also use it for hiking. Most people buy the cheap etrex gps's and they work fine. Its just a matter of prefrence.

I have and love the Garmin GPSMAP 76CX and used this mount

I bolted the mount to the top of the glove box.

I have the Garmin 76Csx as well, I really like it. Best part is, is that it floats (in case you like me and drop things alot). You have to buy maps for it tho. The City/Street package aint to bad its like 100-120 for all of the US mainland. The marine maps are where they get you they are around the same price, but for a very limited area. The only thing I dont like is that fact that you have to manually turn on and off each of the marine vs city maps when you want to use one or the other. Garmin whould have made a hot button that would turn all city off and all marine on, and vice versa.
