    OPAS Block-off Installiation

I installed my Riva Standard OPAS Block-off's last night. I didn't see anywhere in the instruction where is said to use silicone, but the OPAS had silicone on them. Should I use silicone, and if so what kind?

I think the standard blockoffs come with O-rings.Right? you shouldn't need silicone. If it is the racing blockoffs use perm-a-tex black.

By all means use silicone. I used silicone along with the oring. That makes them leak proof. If you have to take them off sometime you can work a putty knife behind them and cut through the silicone.

I've had pera-tex black on mine for over a year and had no problems what so ever.

I like permatex Ultra-Black. Holds very well on clean surfaces. Takes a little longer to set than reg silicone but leaving it overnight works well. It's dark grey in color so it matches the hull well.

I like to use the right stuff or ultra black. Both work good and are dark in color so dont show up on the black hull much. I have even used some clear silicone and it works also.
