    F*&#!

Don't let friend use $hitty press to help with pump rebuild!

I guess I'm looking for a SS stator now. If anyone has one and wants to hold onto to it till I can pay ya, let me know!

Bummer!! You really dont need to use a press if you freeze the bearings/heat the stator trick.

Hey, I had an idea.... now this would be a "TAD" late for you, but maybe during your reassembly you can use this to build a guide for the polaris section. There would be differences, but the theory is the same, and would prevent what happened to you.

Parts swell when hot, and shrink when cold.

I will keep that in mind. I've done a ton of them without a problem before, the only thing was this was a electric/hyrdaulic press. which i knew looked bad from the start. I've always used a little hand pump press.

    It was kind a of a "ah it'll work, here........30 seconds later...BOOM"

Luckily I dont have any aftermarket aluminum organs!

And, It probably was time for replacing the pump anyways, but it would still have been a good back-up or spare.

Thanks Dan! I will let you know.

One of my friends is coming back home this weekend, I told him to look through the pile of stators he has at work, so he should have something for me.

I told him it would be sweet if he could find a 6vSS just laying around collecting dust
