Thumbs down I spun the intemediate shaft bearing

I spun the intemediate shaft bearing at least...maybe not the pump bearings.

The manual says to remove the engine...can I just slide it forward?
    Anyone have any pointers?

j/k on soc but yes you need to pull the pump and replace the seals in impeller duct which is why your driveshaft looks that way and also repair or replace pump as that broken vane will rob performance-you have a pm

    Thanks Big Raider....

Well, looks like just short of a grand for all the parts to completely rebuild the drive train. Thats the intermediate shaft, drive shaft, the duct with the cracked vane shown in Dentwizards thread, and all associated seals, bearings etc.

Thats alot to spend on this ski IMO...maybe I'll just do the intermediate bearing and hope for the best. If I get 2 years out of this ski I'll be happy.

Looks like its time to buy some metric tools and start the dissasembly.
Gee. I wish I hadnt filled up the gas Thursday.

    Yeah, perhaps.

I'll be getting the intermediate housing out today and depending on the condition of the shaft I may be intrested in it!!!

Are the bearing in that one still good? Hell, I could just swap that unit in, no?

Hey - are the seals a must-replace item if you pull the pump apart? getting ready to replace the impeller (thanks again, Lee) on my 96 Raider 700 and need to order the little, important things that I should just go ahead and replace while I'm in there.

btw, Shay, there was a Raider pump complete with shaft and impeller in the yamaha classifieds section if you could get the guy to respond as to whether the parts are from an 1100, 701, or 760 - I never got a response.
