hose pincher for towing (in water) rxp/rxt ??

ok I read in the manual that when your towing in the water if you break down to put a hose pincher on the I think its the water inlet hose to the water box so it doesn't back up into the motor. Can I order this from seadoo?? now I think if this happens that its rather important, why wouldn't seadoo supply one with each boat??? hydrolock is bad!! I never used a hose pincher on my 94 xps and had to tow them several times. never had a problem.

the hose you want to pinch is the water inlet coming off the pump.... it's the water supply line to the intercooler on the SCIC machines, or the hose going to the exhaust manifold on other machines.

it's USUALLY labelled with a red marker on the hose towards the rear of the ski, sometimes a green lengthwise line on the hose "i think"... it's a 3/4" heater hose coming off the top of the pump support.

I carry a pair of needle nose vise grips with vinyl tubing placed over the jaws to protect the hose.

yea seadoo makes a part for it, but i'm not even a fan of the way the seadoo hose pincher works . I like Vmans idea of long needle nose vice grips much better. just protect the teath on it.

Lurkers tool looks pretty cool too!

I have a radiator hose pincher like in the picture above. I keep it in the ski. Today though I felt like checking it out and I realized that it is a bitch to pinch off the hose. And that was on the trailer.

It would be a real pain to do it out on the ocean.

It is tough to get to the hose. Especially on the RXP. IT is a bit easier on the RXT once you remove the vent but still a pain.

I hope I never have to get towed!
