    HOME MADE COLD AIR KIT FOR OUR SKIS **

    Im in the process of buying a length of the 4 inch tubing we need to do the homemade ram air cool air kit but it is well over 100 bucks and you get way to much of it .. who is interested in going 1/2s and i will ship out the piece i dont use we could prob go 3 ways and keep our cost real nice and low but im looking to do it real soon so let me know ..

    Jerry is right, that is a good air intake hose. Get 2 3inch to 4 inche reducers from Home Depot, and you have youself a superior air intake system (use the stock elbow from the SC). About $90 per ski intead of the $200+ systems sold by aftermaket companies. And this one is better!

    ...and someone will take photos and lay out instructions on how to do this? I'll pay for someone's work to map this out. It's worth mine and their time. So if I don't have the Riva intake, what do I use for a filter?

    rx4pain, you can get a filter from K&N. Riva says they sell the filter separately, but they haven't responded to my emails asking how much they charge for just the filter. Probably cheaper to get it elsewhere is what I suspect.

    As for instructions, it's super easy. Get 2 4 inch to 3 inch reducers from Home Depot. One attaches to the stock rubber elbow that comes off the SC. Attach the hose to the reducer and run the hose to where you want the filter to go. Use the other reducer to attach the hose to the filter. Place the filter where you want it and you are done.

    I was going to get the 4" flex hose and then just use one 3 to 4 inch reducer and try to find a 4" K&N filter.

    I was thinking of using a 6.5 foot tube and putting it at the front of the hull next to the where the air is pulled into the hull. I was also going to use some sort of insultation on the tubing to keep the air cool.

    Is there a downside to pulling too much air to the SC ? Is denso 27 plugs good enough or do you have to go to a 28 if you pull too much air.

    If I have a 4" tube going to the SC with a air filter could anything negative happen to the engine ? (assuming I'm using 93 octane)

    I'm also going to remount the recifier like Riva suggests.

    Ductmonkey - that could be a hot selling T-shirt at American Eagle.

    Sounds easy enough...question - with the gas tank straps going around the stock air box, I take it you need to keep it in place for the straps to be tight? Are people keeping the stock air box in when they do the Riva power filter?
