Newbie needs help
Hi guys.. My name is Pete from Massachusetts.. Iím new to this forum.. I just bought a 2000 GP1200R with a seized engine.. I took it apart this weekend to find the connecting rods and pistons were completely seized.. They didnít budge until I soaked them in some mystery oil.. The rear piston and jug have some score marks on it, and the other two were fine.. The scratches on the jugs are just deep enough to catch with your fingernail ( they look a lot worse in the pics. ) Iím thinking of boring the jugs to a 1300.. but being in college and all, money is kind of tight.. before I go down to the machine shop, does anyone have an idea how much Iíd be spending on the bore and re-nikasil? Also, would the carbs need to be jetted with a 1300cc bore? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Thanks for the help WFO.. I will give them a call tomorrow. The head seems to be in great shape. There is no visable damage at all.

Ok, that def makes sense about the head. I would only need one jug tho if I plan on keeping it a 1200. The other two still have visable crosshatch. I'm not to sure about pistons whether or not to go with pro-x or wiseco, but you can send me a PM on the price for the pistons and jug if you want. Thanks.
