    new and need help

hi, i'm new to jet skis and i've searched and can't find what i'm looking for. we just bought 2 polaris ski's from someone we know. 95 650 and a 95 750 slt. one of them was running he said and then quit. said it was the stator. problem is, he took it apart and i don't know if the one he sent is a new one or the bad one. how do i tell? also, the 780 he said he bought it for parts because the motor was locked up. we're thinking we might can fix it, but where do we start to see what's wrong with it?

    WELCOME tothe Green Hulk Forums!!
Check the tech section for the stator test under Fuji electrical. You can also send the stator to John at Jet Ski Solutions, he can test and repair it if needed.
On the locked up engine, have your tried to rotate the engine by hand? Maybe pull the domes and inspect the pistons and cylinder walls.

will that test work if it's already been taken out? when we got it, it was loose in a box with a cdi and some other parts. so our problem is that we don't know if the parts are new and he just didn't put them on yet or if they are they ones he took off that are bad. we really hadn't had a chance to look at the other one with the locked motor yet. husband has been working 70 hrs a week, no time off to really look at them yet.

Can you post the part numbers of the CDI and stator assembly?

The stator coil test can be done with it out of the engine, per the 1992-1998 Service Manual.

ok, there's 3 # on the backof the stator one is 65w95, or 5223, or f247 . i'll have to get the cdi out of the garage to check it.

ok, so when i said i was new to jet ski's. i meant i know nothing. so is that part stock on the ski or something he has bought to go on it? sorry so many question but we have no idea. My husband is very mechanical, so fixing it won't be a problem. we just don't know anything about the skis, or the parts yet. and it stinks that when we got it it was already tore apart to try to fix it so we don't know where to start or what's been done to it. thanks for all the help guys.

That is a stock part. It can be tested on a bench with an ohm meter. Download the service manual from the tech section for testing procedures and parameters.
