    Annular discharge carb?

I know this isn't for a polaris but I no one seems no know. Is there any advantage to using this carb? Who does this kind of mod, I would like to know what was done to the carb. The venturi is gone and a I can't figure out if it came like this or if it was modded. Any help would be great.
