"the X ski will be faster everywhere except in rough water"

I watched Billly Dearman race (and win) with his white GPR in Rochester last summer.

After watching his GPR in action I find it very hard to believe a stock RXP-X could keep up on any water conditions with his GPR.

Considering that my pump gas single pipe comes out of the hole even with an X and then quickly starts pulling away I would have to assume a SS CC tripple pipe boat with a skat pump would destroy it all the way around.

    Cool ?????????

    After reading the question..

I had a run against two new X's a few weeks ago..

On My 05 with the usual mods..

I was slightly behind for 100 yards or so then quickly pulled up to and past both of them..!!

When they caught me up. (after i decided the race was won of course)

    All i heard was..
OH..!!! they're new we're just running them in.. blah,blah,blah..!!

A few days later, i'm out at my local Yamaha dealer picking some odds and ends up..

When he tells me about some guys he knows and had just spoke to, who've just bought RXP-X's.

Who weren't very happy about their performance at all..

To quote what they said to him.. "there was some guy up the loch on a fast as F**k Yamaha"

His reply "Oh Really.??" he knew it was mine..

Just wait till my lil GP12.. shows em whats what..!!

    So to answer the question..

I think an "X" would have a seriously difficult time with a SS GPR everywhere..

hands down the GPR would be the clear winner..... that is like bringing a knife to a gun fight...... the gpr may be only a few mph quicker but it gets there in a hurry......

Yea, GPR for sure. I am pretty sure my 1390 single pipe as it sits would be a good race with one out of the hole and walk them hard up top. A SS 1200 should pull them out of the hole and put a couple mph on them for sure.

My modified 97 GP1200 wins some & loses some against an RXP-X in a drag race, its very close, so a triple pipe SS GPR would have no problem with one.
