    Riva Sponsons FXHO

The RPM KIT is on order. What is the best way to setup the adjustable sponsons?
I want performance but also dont wanna be thrown off or not be able to take my girl with me and turn without throwin her in the air.
Who has these on? Gimme some details.

    Tahkns

If you're a rec rider but still wanna handle them turns set um in the middle but if you want to be really agressive in turns set um all the way down..

IMO, when you improve a ski's handling/cornering ability you not only increase the fun factor, but more importantly, it makes for a safer ride. I use stepped stock sponsons on my GPR when I am riding in choppy water because of its tendency to porpoise. Otherwise I always prefer my Riva sp's set fully down. It really depends mostly on personal preference. It's only a 2 min adjustment so try every setting and see which one you like most for your riding style.

Will I have to denature and loctit the bolts each time I adjust?

i have mine set to the most agresive seting they have never come close to throwing me off
they are no more agresive than stock it's just that they are more predictable
i have not had them slide out yet
with the stock sponsons at a yamaha test day i did a 360 just trying to go around a 90 deg bend
i think it would not happen with the riva ones but have not been to a test day with them fited

When I got my sponsons, I went to my local lake on a weekday when nobody was there so I could leave my trailer on the ramp. Each time I adjusted them I just torqued the screws to German specs(Gut-n-Tight)and once I decided how I preferred them I took the ski home and used loctit.

Looks like they screw from outside into a bolt plate inside the hull. If that is so, is it a 2 man job - one to hold the nut while other turns bolt?

    it's a one man job
unbolt the old sponsons from the out side
bolt on the new backing plate from the outside (useing only 3 of the bolt holes not 4)
plug up left over bolt hole with suplied plug
    screw on the blades
    your done

I've got a question about the sponsons. Would they help the tracking of the ski when I'm pulling a wake skater? When you cut to the outside on the skate it pulls the end of the ski to that side and I'd have to counteract it with some steering input to keep on course. Would sponsons help keeping it tracking straight?
