    Anybody know how to ID the piston size from a 1300?

    I thought there would be a color dot somewhere under the crown (red, orange, etc...). Do the #/letters engraved on the crown have anything to do with IDing the size group??

    Thx,

    jp

    Yes, the letters do represent the size of the piston. I think there is a chart somewhere on the forum that identifies the different sizes.

    Red: 83.899–83.902 (3.3031–3.3032)
    Orange: 83.903–83.906 (3.3033–3.3034)
    Green: 83.907–83.910 (3.3034–3.3035)
    Purple: 83.911–83.914 (3.3036–3.3037)

    Should be a color on it somewhere, like a felt tip pen mark

    All I found was 892 done in black marker, on the crown. Underneath on the pin boss there's a black marker dash. I'm wondering if the laser etched 04BRB mark on the crown means anything??

    I used the search function....

    on boats.net they list pistons a,b,c,d

    A = Red
    B = Orange
    C = Green
    D = purple

    These letters must not be shown on the piston, thats why we have to look for the color?

    Unfortunately, there ain't no color any where to be found on this here piston; just a # written on the crown in black marker and the etched #'s I mentioned.
    Stumped...
