    Xl 800 heat sensor question

    Does anyone have a picture of a xl 800 engine, i putting together a basket case...the reason i ask is does the engine have a sensor that is supposed to go in the cylinder head and another that goes towards the bottom of the exhaust boot on expansion chamber?...the manual i have sux and i have looked in all online parts fiche and the best that i can see is that the xl800 does not have a sensor per the online fiche on the cylinder head..can some one confirm this..thanks

    there in only one sensor on the 800 and its on the stinger at the bottom. If you standing on the left side of the ski you will see it towards the rear of the ski on the pipe below the electrical box. It just bolts into a little pocket in the pipe, there is no opening through the exhaust. So no sealing issues it sences the temps of the metal pipe itself. So no need to wrench down on it, and no orings or seals to worry about.
