Right under the oil cap there is a warning that says to only use Yamalube. Do you really have to use this or is Yamaha just trying to get money?

Yes, you gotta unless you take out the catalytic converter and replace it with a d-plate from riva or r/d. Different oil will clog the cat of its not removed. On my old 04, I also used the kawasaki oil w/out issues cuz it was like $5 cheaper per gallon

I have a gallon of oil that says this on the tank...
"Exceeds all warranty requirements for all makes and models of high performance outboard engines including Mercury, Johnson, Yamaha, etc."
Does that mean it is okay to use? I doubt it since it says outboard..... Didn't even realize that.
If it isn't okay, I guess my next question would be if Oil is Siphonable??

I heard from someone that practically rides jet ski's for a living that as long as the oil is TC-W3 then it is okay to use. This true?
