    GPS mounting on VX

Hey everyone I have a 2007 VX Delux that I like to go on cruizes with around Maryland and other northeastern coasts. I was wondering which gps would best be suited for this kind of riding and also how to mount it? The ski is 100% stock. Thanks for the help. I looked but for some reason could not find a whole lot on the subject.

    Rip,

I did the same thing but I took the safety sticker off first.
It looks like u have an E-trex. Mine is a 76 so the braket is a little bigger.

I really dont want to put holes in my brand new ski lol. I was wondering if anyone knew if I kept the unit in the glovebox would it still read speed and keep track of where i am going?

Yes, mine always work in the glove box. Did it that way for years. I mounted it to the glove box because its easy to replace if you want to sell or get a different GPS. But once you mount it there you wont want it in the glove box anymore!

I mounted my Garmin 276 onto my FXHO using a stainless steel plate which is fixed into the handlebar cover fixing points. No extra holes needed to be drilled & it can be returned to stock when the ski is sold. The gps is fixed onto the plate with RAM mount fittings.
Mounting in this position also means you do not have to look down too much to see the screen when riding. I'm often out in quite choppy conditions offshore & have had no problems at all with the 276.
