    Exclamation 00SLX with spark problems

I am new to the forum but see many people who are much more knowledgable than I! Last year, the dealer put a new CDI in my machine in November. Because I live in Michigan, I just got it out and ran it this weekend. It started up great for the first time. After running it for about 30 minutes, it wouldn't spark. Once it cooled down, it had spark and fired again. I just ran it again today and the exact same issue came up. I am at a loss since the CDI was just replaced last week. Any help would be appreciated!!

j, WELCOME to the Green Hulk Forums!!

Your shop has the CDI hooked up incorrectly.
There is an update and the CDI red/purple wire has to be attached to the ORANGE spade on the terminal board instead of the red/purple spade.

Split the box and correct it yourself or have your dealer install it to the correct location.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just tried that and it didn't work. What else would it be? The battery is brand new.

New battery does not always mean its good. What is the voltage measured at the battery while cranking it must be 10.7 or more.

We have plenty of volage when cranking. When we hooked the red/purple wire to the orange spade, the bildge pump ran continuously. Is it possibly to get a schematic for the 00 SLX.

Try holding the bilge switch while cranking and see if you get spark.

I am getting spark right now again because the ski has cooled. I am wondering if it is a bad stator?

The Red/Purple wire from the CDI, is that the wire you moved to the Orange spade?

Bilge pump running suggests you moved the wrong wire.

The posted schematic shows the wiring before the technical bulletin came out.

The Orange spade/wire only has voltage when the engine is rotating, so powering the CDI from the Orange wire (as per the update bulletin) ensures that the CDI properly shuts down when the engine stops, thereby ensuring the CDI will then start the engine the next time.

I moved the one off the red/purple post and on to the orange post. When I did that, the bildge ran constantly. Are you saying I moved the wrong one? I do not have a jumper wire.
