    Finally hit 71

I am very happy with my setup now.
It was 80 degrees and I finally hit 71 on GPS.
The only mods I have are:
    14/19r
    Riva Grate
    Rideplate holes plugged.
    I was turning 8100 rpms.
I didnt think that it would rev that high without a tweak.

nice numbers with just 3 mods! i really need to find some time to send my prop to u jerry to get the RPM's up. i have been busy with work and helping my parents move into their new house down here in OC, MD so i plan to take the prop off this week and send it down there!

I can't figure out how my stocker is turning it at 8100 without a repitch?
I thought that a stock 14/19r would spin around 7900

Im turning 8100~8150 with my setup and no repitch. I was only turning 8050~8100 with a power filter and stock prop. Go figure, my RPM went up after installing the 14/19. Thats one reason why Im going to get an aftermarket tach.

Try a wedge and you'll break 72mph. I completely disagree with those who say a wedge is bad in chop. Set the trim right and you'll be fine. I think RIVA has a VTS extension rod now. That way you'll be able to trim lower than neutral with a wedge installed.

I had a better night tonite.71.4 with 84 degree air and 82 degree water.I am a happy camper. The nice thing about my GPS is that it will not hold a max speed until you maintain it for at least 5 seconds.

Awesome GPS! I like that feature about taking 5 seconds. Maybe then we can finally put to rest the whole max speed arguement. Looks like an upgrade may be in my future. What GPS is that? I see it's a Magellan Meridian Marine but I can't seem to find it on their website. Does it have any type of PC interface? With my next GPS I want to be able to download my routes directly to my computer. I'm still chugging away with my Garmin eTrex Legend.

BTW... is anyone else having troubles with Garmins shutting off randomly? Apparently it happens more when they are shaken. Turns out it's the battery contacts shorting out. You can wedge a peice of a toothpick underneath them to prevent this. Just FYI....
