What might be the cause of a blown engine?

A friend of mine with an RXP with Rude Supercharger, Riva Ecu etc.....blew 1 cylinder

    8450-8500 rpms

    Would it be:
Choppy water and Bouncing of the rev limiter too long?
Previous water ingestion but we took everything out...?
Unbalanced impeller prop? Not the case but just asking...
Ski running perfect all day, only at the end it started to make a noise and gone...

    Oil Level perfect

    any thoughts,
    Hect

    You tell me!!!

I'm on motor #4 that's right 4 MOTORS! I have a mild stage 1 meaning after the first motor I stopped using the RIVA air intake. First motor valve train failure at 145 hours. The second motor was another valve train failure, with the stock air intake box. But the intercooler was leaking for a ride out to Ship Island, Mississippi, then a trip to Destin, Florida. So that's about 12 hours riding in choppy TRUE SALT WATER, that I didn't notice I was missing a few hundred RPM. It let go at 168 hours, a year after the first motor. The third motor only lasted 5 hours before the fly wheel bolts broke and tore up the stator. So now I'm 3 hours into the 4th motor. If it blows again I will part ways with skis.

    Valve train upgraded?

If you are spinning the boat round. . . water injestion?

    If not leaking intercooler?

Sounds like you aren't flushing/fogging the ski? Salt water means you spend 2x the time as fresh water riders doing preventive maintenance.

Jet Ski was properly taking care off.
Salt Away every time. Riva ecu with 50# injectors, valve train, all the goodies. We ran 82mph with this ski..
Oil brand new, just changed it...
    weird!!

It is supposed to be fine since the riva ecu will compensate for boost. even Jerry ran 14-15psi on the turbo set up with riva ecu and 50# injectors without going lean. So at 10-11psi the ski was seing should be fine. Just don't know...
