97 XP what to look for and how to prevent...
I'm going to look at a 97 XP today in Michigan.
Its only been run in fresh and shows 151psi across both cylinders.
Is there a link to a list of items I need to check before purchasing the unit?
Also, is there a way to protect the electrical problem points so they won't go bad in the future?
They are asking $2500 with no trailer. (I donít need one) What would be a good price...?
The hull is a little faded and it looks like the top part has been replaced.
Also, how do I check the hours on the machine?

$1200 is a steal.
What would it be worth at normal market value. Remember this is a fresh water boat not salt.

Really 1200 to 1500 is a fair price 2500 you are getting took freash water or not buy a 2000 or later XP the 97 has a great hull just under powered by 2000 most of the bugs where worked out using the 951

I just got a 2002 for $3500 in excelent shape. The 97 is underpowerd and the early xpl's had water intrrusion issues. I think in 99 they moved the vent hoses further back and cured the intrusion problems..
