Thread: Gas smell

Anyone else notice a gas smell after there ski sits for a week or so? I noticed this after installing the rrfpr. I dont see any leaks. The other thing i notice is that after it sits for a few days it doesnt start up on the first try. It always starts on the second try. Seems like maybe fuel pressure bleeds off after sitting. I also have a stock ski and it starts up on the first try every time and no gas smell. Any input would be appreciated.

My main concern is the gas smell as it always starts fine after that first time. I always pull the seat before I start it just in case. I had an intake explode on me a while back and ever since then I make sure it is well ventilated before I start it for the first time.

just make sure you vent the ski before you hop on the ski. dont want any nasty accidents.

When I installed my rrfpr I had the same problem. I don't think that it seated properly when I first put it in. I pulled it and reinstalled it and I never had any problems since.

I wil try this but I am pretty sure it is installed properly. Did you just have the gas smell or the cold start issue also?
