Do I really need to change the Ceramic washers in 05 RXP

I have an 05 RXP with 70 hours on it. It still has the ceramic washers in the SC and still runs perfect. I see alot of threads in here regarding replacing with steel. I talked to 3 Seadoo dealers and they all say that they would not change unless they go bad. But I heard if the ceramic washers let go they can do severe damage to the engine. I rebuilt the engine in my Seadoo GTX and SkiDoo MXZ so I know my way around engines. Worth changing the washers now? Just looking for some advice and how entailed the washer change is. Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Your dealers are idiots. Change them now. You are very lucky they have lasted this long.

I found some more info on this site regarding this issue and it was very informative. I plan to change them ASAP. Thanks for the feedback. Have yet to find a good Seadoo / Skidoo dealer!

Thanks for the warm welcome. One other question. It appears that Riva sells the steel washers and I found some on Ebay as well. Any recommendations on which washers to buy? Are there other aftermarket brands?

this forum saved you money. Spend some of savings on the forum host..the online store here. Buy Jerry's riva washers. The ebay are the wrong thickness sometimes also.
