    WaveEater Clips GP1300R (2003 Model)

Hi...please can anyone tell me if it is necessary to fit WaveEater Clips on this model as I have been told that it is not necessary on the 03 Model & later ??
    Many thanks

i am pretty sure the 2003 model still uses power valves so its worth investing in wave eaters and couplers.

$100 for a set of clips or would you prefer repairing a damaged motor......

I have the same ski, same year. I researched this pretty heavily earlier this winter when I bought my ski. It is true that some of the earlier issues of PV's are solved in 2003.

But you still need the waveeater clips and couplers. They are cheap insurance that your PV's dont slam into your pistons at max RPM's causing a potential for a new motor and thousands of $'s in repair. They are also very easy to install. Once there on the PV's, they really need no maintanance.

I would also consider waveater couplers, stock plastic ones wear!Mine had about a 1/4 turn of play between #3 and #1 cylinders when rotating valves manually with servo disconnected (not going to save motor just protects your performance)>scott

wow Mike you beat me to it!I type slow!

Hi Guys....many thanks for the info regarding WaveEater Clips. I took off one of the PV plate's held by 4 set screws just yesterday (rear cylinder as this one is most accessible).
The PV clips/block which are currently fitted on my ski looks to be manufactured from alloy ??
Therefore do I still need the Waveater Clips fitting over the top of the already installed Alloy block ??
Not really sure how these things work guys. I will try & upload some pictures here soon....that'll be a laugh, havn't uploaded pictures on the forum before. Is this easy to do ?
    Many thanks

The clips go over the blocks and capture the roll pin that attaches to the valve stem thus preventing the pin from falling out and letting the valve drop and smashing your piston.

Hi Beerdart....thankyou for the update re the WaveEater Clips. Could you possibly advise me as to why I have been told that the 03 Model GP1300R doesn't need them ?? From what I read on the forum I am assuming that all the GPR's do actually need them fitting as a safety precaution
Many thanks for your continued advice

Here is a pic of the 2003 GPR and as you can see the ends of the blocks are open and the dowel pin can fall out.
