Removing fuel injectors and replacing with new

How do the stock injectors come out? I have the fuel rail off and the electrical wires uncliped, but now I'm kind of confused. It looks like the stock injectors are clipped into the fuel rail, or do they just twist and pull out?

Also when installing new injectors a little tube of silicone came with them. What is it for? Lubricate the o-ring or...?

Damn I feel stupid right now.

If the injectors are still in the rail/plugged in, removed the metal c clip that goes around the plug on the head of the injector. If that is already done then the injector just pulls out. Use the silicone to lube the o-rings

The only thing that is actually clipped is the plug for the injector. Otherwise the injectors twist/pull out of the intake manifold and the injectors twist/pull out of the fuel rail. The fuel rail holds the injectors in the intake manifold when bolted down.

They are held in by a U shaped steel clip near the injector. Just pop it out and you should be able to pull the injector out. I use a small amount of oil on the O ring when installing new injectors.

This is not true. They are held in the rail with a u clip that slides in a groove on the injector as stated above.

Yeah happened to me... a good bit of fuel went everywhere... funny thing is my ski had sat a good month before I changed my injectors so I figured there would be no fuel in the rail... boy was I wrong.
