    Trim Motor ???

On my 01 slx1200 the trim motor stripped out the gears so i put a 750 assembly in there and it works just fine ,but the 1200 has the quick motor and gears in it and the 750 has the slower motor and gears so now my gauge still goes fast but my trim moves slow . My question is what tells the gauge to move is this setup through the cdi .

I think it is hard coded into the MFI model.

Is your MFI model number specific to the Pro or SLX series?

I don't know exactly what makes the 'fast' trim motors fast, the motor, the gears, or both.

Is it the motor or the gears, or both, that are different?

If just the motor itself is different (spins faster), then maybe you can swap the old motor into the good gearbox.

I'm almost certain it's the gearing.

I wouldnt know where a guy might find new gears to install.
