    Plastic Cover?

I just bought a GP1200R and has this plastic cover over the exhaust pipe (?). Is this necessary, or can I take it off?

You can leave it off. It won't hurt anything except maybe you if you touch the hot exhaust pipe. Im guessing thats why yamaha put it on there.

That's what I was thinking. It just kind of takes up space...
