Could the be the cause of some serious cavitation?
My RXT has real bad cavitation as soon as you hit the throttle, about 2 seconds in it picks up nice and has no problems. The prop has many nicks in so i am wondering if this could be the cause, also for those of you who have seen hundreds of wear rings how does this one look?

time for a new wear ring and now you have a great excuse to upgrade that prop.

change the wear ring and impeller to fix your headache.

If your RXT is stock this is the impeller you need
This is the best option for a new wear ring
this is the cheapest wear ring alternative

haha pretty easy actually, was using a Cannon SD300 Camera, when it was powered off stuck it through the grate, turned to to face the impeller turned the power on and vola, worked quite nicely.
