    what oil to use?

well, going in for the 10 service in a few days.when i get it back im thinking it would be a good time to do an oil change now that break in is done.

whats everyone using in their 250's? conv or synth ?any brands working better than others?

With the machine being new and your not going to do many mods then stay with the recommended Kawi Watercraft oil. Some will try and sell you their exspensive oil but its best for yourself to stay with recomended oil.

I race the piss out of mine and use the Kawi Watercraft oil. Cost me $16 dollars a change out. Simple and cheap.

Maybe invest in a oil pump and start doing your own changes.

    I agree with Skip

If you do choose to upgrade, consider MOTUL Synthetic Mix

If you upgrade to Fully Synthetic, consider AMSOIL Full Syn Marine Oil

    Good luck!

    I use Maxima Maxum 10w40 non-synthetic, cost me $21 a gallon
I think any oil with the JASO MA rating or API SG or higher will work fine.
Just make sure to watch your oil lvl to see if its rising.

thanks for all the reply's........skip,i do have an oil extractor and was planning to do my own oil changes,im just bringing it in to the dealer for the 10 hour check as i have the extended warranty and dont want to give anyone any reason to void that.

so if im reading all the reply's right........its ok to use a synth oil,but im fine using the reg conv stuff as long as i change the oil in a timely manner.

if i go with a mobil one type oil at approx how many hours should i change the oil?same question if i stick with the kawi oil.

    thanks in advance.
