08 Washer failure, metal shavings or pieces??
Since these failed and I can do the work do I need to clean out the oiling system? I know these are not ceramic but when metal fail do the put metal shavings or pieces in the oil system?

Have you pulled the charger and inspected it? If so and the washers are shot with pieces missing then yes you need to clean the screens and oil pumps. Did one of the washers blow apart?

Hmmm, I think this happened to another member here a few weeks ago, as I recall Jerry said the washer pieces get caught in the screens and are not as damaging as the ceramic particles (?) but ...
... why not have your dealer "deal" with this, since it's a warranty issue?
I would have them install Jerry's washers though...
