I own a VW and only need to advice that you should fight for an extended warranty!
TDI's give great mileage and with a few upgrades WILL become an awesome torque machine!

I have the 2002 Jetta TDi and I love it. The only thing I would change on mine is buy a standard. Mine is auto and gives me about 41-42mpg and my buddy has a standard and it gives him 47-48mpg and for me it was about the mileage, so I wish I had got a standard, but I love my jetta. No issues what so ever and I have 148,000 miles on it.

How many times have the power windows fallen? How many times has the brake light switch been replaced because you can`t get out of park?

They're camels, interior finish is awesome (better than a BMW or a mercedes), very comfortable, I don't know which model you plan on getting (i4 or V6) but the V6 hauls surprisingly well.

anybody wanna take over payments for an 05 GMC Envoy? 275 HP, I-6 cyl, 12-13 mpg
what a mistake, lol. If i lived where half of you guys live i wouldn't complain too much, but $3.25 - 3.35 for REGULAR kinda sucks. and gas on the water at $4.09 sucks too.
do you guys have tow vehicles, or you use these fuel efficient cars to tow trailers also?
