WARNING: Handle Bar Placement
Yesterday I had been at the lake with a group of people and had just ran a 07 GPR. Smoked him over and over
Anyways, after I tried to catch up to my friends to load up for the evening. There was some chop and you couldn't see the waves are good as earlier but it was mostly smooth. I ending up hitting a huge wave and banging my head against the aftermarket handle bar bracket. I didn't have my bars tilted forward very much so the pad didn't protect me.
Result is I have a nice cut on my forehead, shouldn't scar from what I was told, and a non recessed skull fracture.
Be careful out there folks! Make sure the cover is over the bracket! I was cruising around 66-70 mph at the time.

sorry to hear about your head. is the ski ok? ?
i'm assuming you didn't let go of the bars? tough to hang on at that speed after a skull fracture!

I put stock bars on my ski that had aftermarket bars on it for that reason. My forhead kissed the aftermarket bars but not as hard as you.

I honestly dont see the point in aftermarket handlebars for the sole reason that they are a nuisance if you hit a wave that makes you hit the damn bar. Last season I hit a 12 foot wave at 70+...lets just say I was bruised up however I was happy that I didn't have aftermarket bars. What do they add btw asides from cosmetics and possible bar shape for added comfort??
