    Yamaha Trip Meter

    Stupid idea!
Yamaha Trip meter-(on HO cruiser and SHO cruiser anyway) miles traveled- etc- All reset to 0, everytime engine is stopped!
    This makes them useless -imo-

Can anyone help me find out if I can connect an off- on switch to the "correct" wire to the gauges--that way at least- I could see how far I travelled in a day or on a tank of gas-- at least use these fancy tools some!

(Sea Doo figured out how to "keep" the numbers and let the "owner" reset them when "He" wanted to, years ago)

yamaha did as well but for some reason they took a couple of backwards steps
i think someone decided that people wouldn't realy go for a long cruise on a ski built for cruising

I have a 76cs also and it is Great---
But I paid a hell of a lot more for my SHO---
I think it should remember how far it's been---
