I have a 2001 rxx and it has been very reliable. I have not had any real problems with mine. My only complaint would be that it is a real pia to pull the carbs to clean them because you have to remove those twin pipes.

This is what you get when you post a 2 stroke question in the 4 stroke section.

Sorry...Newbie They need to come out with a little 2 seater with a 4-stroke as I like chucking the machine around alot and these new ones like the 255hp one I have borrowed from user "BOATADDICT" is next to impossible to chuck and really carve short with. I guess that demand for what i like may not be there? Just think ......1500cc high compression N/A motor in an RX size body!!!

The RXX is quite possibly the fastest 2-stroke ski ever produced.

I agree. There's a guy on the board that put a 4-tec SC 215 hp engine in an XPL. Best of both worlds, I think, but it does tend to nosedive when he guns it from a dead stop. It was fun watching him take off at MB.

I always thought it would be cool for Sea-Doo to put a 2 cylinder version of the 4-tec SC in the HX or similar hull. 145 reliable hp in a small single-seater hull would be fun!

RXX is a race ski and needs regular maintance.
The RXP is only 9" longer and 1" wider than an RXX.
If you cant throw the RXP around I dont think you'll have much luck with the RXX either.

The RXX needs to be rebuilt every so many hours. Like any performance ported 2 stroke, piston wear will happen. Are you in Ont? I know of one which is is in real nice shape in the Belleville Area and he owns 2 of them and thinking on getting rid of one.
