I run my head pissers without any restrictors. If you fine the temps in one cylinder that you can add a restrictor the the coldest one to increase the cooling to the others. Start with no restrictors.

Ideal cylinder temp is 143*, that's what the thermostat is set to open at.

If you find a cylinder running cooler than that, you can add a restrictor to limit water flow and bring the temp up.

Like BeerDart said, start with none and get the cyls as close to temp as you can. Restricting ONLY the cooler cyl or cyls than 143*

Remember, you will not get 143* while idling. It must be taken during, or just after WOT. Randy (watcon.com) sells temp strips that can aid in identifying cyl temps.

^ Yea, the water goes all around the piston, but the head gasket only has a few small holes for the water to go out, i think 4ish like 1/4" holes.
