Not sure if this is a dumb ? or not!

Would the Riva Sponsons help gain any mph or are they mainly a help you out in the chop kinda thing as far as steering goes and handling goes, would they help get through the ruff stuff quicker or just give you more control?

Not a dumb question at all. They are mainly for handling but if set properly they can also decrease drag and you may see an overall gain in speed.

not a dumb question been there asked that same question.
you get some people who like the stock sponsons and some the riva like myself.
i find the riva ones are much better first for the chop you track staraight and you don't get that side to side movement when landing since mine are ajusted all the way down(riva sponsons).
a good benefit with that to the chop is the riva intake grate for the chop that way your pump is loaded with more water and its not supose to rub any speed off in flat water.
there would be 3 things that i would immidiatly change if i baught another ski
1.sponsons with block off 2.intake grate 3.finger throttle with the extended bars for comfort 4.oh and yes an automatic bildge pump wich i am installing as soon as i get a chance
    I HOPE THIS HELPS
