    tooth circle

    HI, i ordered new starter and bendix.. but now i notice that the tooth circle on flywheel is weak condition.. is it possible to take it off and put back different way i mean heating first and take off..and so on..

    I would just get another flywheel, check ebay I see them all the time.

    no ...the teeth are ground on the ring to lead in the bendix.. the other side of the ring is square cut... you could dress the flywheel with a flat file , cleaning up the 'mashed' parts a bit... if you look at your new bendix the teeth on it are ment to be the mirror opposite to the flywheels teeth must duplicate the three angles on the tooth top, end and leading tip.. if they are really bad ,dressing will fix not fix them... get a new wheel...
