r12x internal water leaking/ after ski wasn't winterized

tips on a honda r12. My friend didn't winterize his ski. Theny he started them up last week and noticed an internal water leak. The dealership had advised that they need to pull the motor and replace place the oil tank cover on the side or bottom of the motor. I guess is a water cooled oil tank. They qt's him 600 per ski. Has anyone heard of this before???

You can weld it, JB weld it, or replace the cover. I'm not sure, but I think you can change out the cover without removing the engine. May need to move the gas tank forward.
