Exclamation 15f R&D rideplate install question

i am tweaking my rideplate this weekend....sanding and mounting flush to the hull, my question is:

has anyone mounted the RD rideplate without the two rubber pieces that sandwiches between the plate and the hull up on the front of the plate? i am just going to use a nice amount silicone (right stuff) and avoid putting the rubber pieces in. it is causing my plate to hang up front on the right side and causing some drag issues.

    any suggestions ?

I left my two rubber pieces off. I couldn't get the plate on flush with them. This maybe why some people are slow. Seal the plate good all the way around and the bolt holes.
