    Ugh.... Throttle Stuck!!

    My throttle has been sticky lately and so far all I have had to do it lubricate up by the lever. Now it is just sticking on full throttle ALL the time. I will pull the lever and the wheel will spin around (counter-clockwise) fine, but it won't spin back clockwise.

    I also notice that one of the round silver pieces will move as it is spinning counter clockwise, but the other one doesn't move at all.

    I will post pictures after this post...

    Exhaust on the right, Pistons on the left. The right little round metal piece will move, but the left won't!

    Do I have to take this whole pulley off or is there a way to lubricate it??

    I thought it was just for the throttle. I don't know. As far as I can tell it is just because the wheel is stuck.

    What did you mean by "carbs."

    carbs=carburetor

    Those carbs need to be taken off and placed on a bench to get looked at well. All three carbs need to evaluated ie.) return springs, and nuts that hold the shaft need to be looked at. as well as all the linkages
    Its possible also the throttle shaft bushings could be worn, corrosion as well as the cables [internally] could have corrosion
    • Have you tried spraying lubricant in the cable ends?
    • When was the last time the carbs have been off or rebuilt?

    haha..... I knew that carbs meant carburetor, but I just wasn't sure what he meant by saying that.

    I just got the ski last month (June 15th I think). It was never rode in salt water before I owned it. Has 71 hours on it. I am going to try to just take off the pulley and clean it off. Hopefully that will do it.

    I have sprayed lubricant up by the throttle lever and on the parts specified by Yamaha (the one that are around the pulley).

    WFO is an EFI guy he was just being sarcastic in a funny way LOL

    Yea, let us know how that works out. But I personally think they need to be benched so you can do a through inspection if it does not cure it.

    Yeah, once I am done pulling and cleaning the pulley I will post the results. I am just really hoping that it will solve the problem! I just spent about $400 in repairs on my other ski and it still isn't working completely right!!!

    I really think it is the problem though. It is hard to pull the lever, so I think that the pulley is just not turning good...
