When you adjust the cable, not only do you move the throttle blade, but you also move the oil injection cable, as they are tied together. I have seen the adjusters at the throttle loosten up and not give full throttle (which will not give a full pull to the oil pump) You can tighten it up if it came loose, but even if it loostened up, that would not yield a high idle, unless someone tightened it waaaay too much, but then it wouldnt start.

What does it idle at in the water is the big question ?

mine idles at 1530ish in the water right now...yes I hyjacked the thread...however its the same subject. I think I need to run another tank of injector cleaner through and it'll be better. It honestly went from in water idle of 2400+ rpms and out of water around 3300 rpms down to 1500ish in and 1890ish out which has made me somewhat happy cause the ski feels nearly back to normal.

in addition, I would remove the oil injection with a block-off kit and do premix...the best thing ive done to my skis out of all of the mods!!

I recently plugged my ski into my Yamaha diag software to test several things...I zero'd out my throttle position because it was reading 2.5 degrees as well as adjusted many other things (new recall cable was installed on both machines and I wanted to eliminate that from possible causes of irregular idle etc. But again, without a machine to show you what your actual Yama computer is seeing I wouldn't recommend messing with the throttle body etc.

in the water mine is idleing at about 1500-1600 but out of the water its running about 3000. This is probably not good is it? Is the tach on the ski itself very accurate?
