Looking at buying a Performance Boat, asap

Been looking for a couple weeks now for a boat... went from looking at bow riders and cruisers... then converted to looking at buying a Baja with a 454..

i went and looked at a Baja yesterday that was real nice, all redone interior, livorsi controls all gauges done, new risers manifolds etc the 7.4L was all gone through... it was a clean piece... comes with trailer and 2 covers... problem is we have a price, that's no problem, but he doesn't want to sell it yet, wants to hold onto it for more of the summer... sucks, bc i want it NOW...

came across another performance boat today... 24' Superboat stepbottom... MINT... i mean flawless... now i'm hot to buy this thing bc i can have it ASAP from the guy, but the price is a bit higher than the Baja... but i'm starting to think going outboard will be less problems and maintence than dealing with a big block and an outdrive... and the fuel consumption difference is a plus i guess too...

anyone have good or bad reviews on the 24' superboats? .... i think its gonna be a WAYYY better boat in the rough stuff than a 23' Baja, but the Baja is a little more luxury looking cruiser, whereas the Superboat is sleek and simple and all business

any input from anyone into this stuff?

    thanks!

    Baja

If your looking at Baja get a Outlaw 24 or bigger. It will handle the big waves better than H2X or Islander Baja. There is a Baja dealer in Va Beach, Va. they have awesome deals...ask for Will.

I'm climbing the corporate ladder as fast as I can as a recent grad... but some of your "concerns/budget" they make me sad. I have to figure out a way to get to the next level...

I'm a gasoholic and my dealer keeps going up.

From what little I've seen I think Baja is the way to go...

outboards are thirsty. and harder to work on. i/o are like working on a car. get something fuel injected. But remember that anything that floats with an engine is a hole in the water that you dump money into

an EFI outboard would be more thirsty than a big block i/o?

forgot about the new 4 stroke efi o/b's Don't know how those compare. I'd still go with an EFI i/o tho. quieter, easier to work on. and an efi big block is going to get better mileage than a carbed BB. gonna suck either way. . literally

i'm on it scott... been spenging HOURS on offshoreonly and screamandfly for the past week

been thru those classifieds 3 times

there's a 24 skater that has my attention tho... just a bit more than i was looking to spend

i want something that is pleasure friendly and decent in some light chop.. but decently fast.. not just a 40-45mph cabin cruiser or bow rider...so i'm looking 21' - 24' mostly ... 4-6 passenger capacity
