    Driveshaft Swap Help

When switching from the 185 hp driveshaft/impeller/wear ring to the 215 driveshaft/impeller/wear ring, do I need to replace the carbon seal, bellow or anything else?

I currently have the the 8100 ECU, RXT driveshaft and 14/19r impeller but want to make sure I have everything in order before I dive in.

    Thanks in advance for replies.

If you alraedy have it apart i would go ahead and throw a new seal in..That way you are good to go for awhile with no worries...But thats just me...

hmm, i think thats all you need.
the end spline at the pump on the driveshaft is bigger on the 215,
the carbon seal is the same.
I know that a RXP-RXT driveshaft will "plug into" the 03 gtx 185hp motor

    03 GTX
    272000186 DRIVE SHAFT$210.99 $210.99
    272000176 SUPPORT RING$49.49 $49.49
    272000177 CARBON RING$66.99 $66.99
    05 RXT
    271001507 SHAFT ASS.$275.99 $275.99
    272000176 SUPPORT RING$49.49 $49.49
    272000177 CARBON RING$66.99 $66.99

when you wanna cross referance-go to the store and pick your parts. when you go to the checkout the oem part numbers are displayed.

I am waiting for late August to perform the swap and other mods. I just want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I do rip everything apart.

Do I understand correctly in that I do not need anything else, but it is recommended to change the carbon seal as well? --jeremy

I am struggling to find a "how-to" driveshaft removal. I have found a couple posts regarding the removal, but not a full "how-to" Where can I find this info?

As soon as riva sends us our pump mod we all will have the instructions for drive shaft. I think will be any day now.

There is a spreader tool for pushing the seal back on the driveshaft. IMHO the bellows and carbon ring don't see very much wear in normal service. I've seen them original on skis with over 400 hours. I'd just run the ones you have. I have 12 or so sets of them if you are doubtful I'll sell you one cheap. I'd say 3/16" is the low thickness for the carbon face flange. The stainless seal face can be machined, have done it several times....hell the carbon can be faced off too then both can be scotch brited smooth. it will run flat to super smooth in the first hour.
