How To Remove Coupler On Crank...

Im trying to get the coupler off my 93 650 crank, and its not moving at all.

I would assume its really on there, like the stator. What do i hold on to to stop the thing from spinning, and do i turn clockwise or counterclockwise while looking directly at the coupler.

Counter clockwise. Is the crank still in the boat with the cylinder on?? If not than stick a long bar in the crank web and a large pipe wrench on the coupler and get two grown men to stand on the crank drink a beer and give it a shot.

Engine is out, crank is sitting in the bottom 1/2 of the case.

I will recruit some people and start hitting this thing with a bigger hammer.

Here is a good thread that involves a floor jack and a broken adjustable wrench.

    AHA!

I got the coupler off, took a whole lot of pounding with a really big hammer, my crank is probably bent and 20,000 out of index now, but the new end seals are on!

Sealed the case and started reassembly, i will update my project thread in a few hours.
