    How to check the stator

I have a new cdi on the way (mine was burnt like it shorted out). Now, I'm wondering if the Stator may have caused the problem. Is there any way to check it with the ski not running? I'd appreciate any help

    Thanks,
Prochamp has been PMing me on everything. Also going to hook me up on a stator if I need one. Very helpful guy. Glad I did business with him

If you have to do the stator (and eventually you will), now you'll be into it at least 350 (assuming you get a swinging deal on a used one and it's good). A new one and you'll be into for more than the up-date kit would have originally cost you... I still think you should have installed the complete kit and been done with NO worries or waiting time.

One other option is to send the stator off to John at Jet Ski Solutions and let him update the old style stator and at least make it last. John will also tell you why and how the old style stators fail and what he does to improve them.

Be sure to verify your timing.

I posted a conversation John and I had about a year ago but couldn't begin to tell you where it is.

The wire and or sheathing is one issue, too thin and too much heat as I recall. Any more and you'd need to contact John.

That was written by Jay, the one with John's information was much older.
