    Race Engineering steering riser

I finally got it Friday morning and put it on as soon as I got home. It's a pretty easy install, just didn't really know where to mount the Dess bracket. So here is not what to do. I just sandwiched it in between the upper block and went to the lake. Well, it was quite windy and the waves were pretty big and consistent. I put it in and just started jumping waves. It lasted until the fourth jump that I landed with all my weight forward. The bars went all the way forward and neatly bent the bracket over. I yanked it back and went to shore to get my tools. Loosened the steering and removed the bracket, took out the Dess and zip tied it to the steering bar. During adjustment and tightening of the riser a large wave heaved the ski up causing my ratchet to slip and giving me a nice scratch in my shiney new chunk of aluminum. But all my fault so what can I say? Anyway, rode the next 2 hours no problem. I like this new lower setup a lot and feel it gives me more control. Rock solid. Well today I found a good place for the Dess bracket that was out of the way. Heres some pics.

I actually got these at a motorcycle shop. TAG X-5 made from 7049 T-6 aluminum. The size is 7/8. I guess the only criteria is that they are strong and rustproof.

I just undid the hood striker, careful not to change the adjstment. Then drilled a hole in the straight bracket, mounted and tightened it . Next bend by hand until it suits you. Sorry, no more pics.

Looks great! I read that you were in a hurry, but did you even think to use the stock handlebars?
