    05 RXP Stock Intercooler Removal

I would like to know if anyone has removed the stock intercooler Without removing the intake or having to loosen any of the intake bolts? I really do not want to "break the intake seal" unless it is actually required.

I don't see anyway to get the sc out without removing the intake hose. You could loosen the sc but to pull it out you'd have to take the hose off. This is not a problem...the hose will reseal just fine when you tighten the pipe clamp. No worries about unsealing the hose.

I think it's impossible to pull out the IC from the intake with bolts in.I had to take the fuel rail with the injectors off also. After losening the intake bolts , I pulled/pushed the intake off and then I took a flat screwdriver and gently helped the ic to come out. If you wont unscrew the intake you just wont have enough place to pull the ic out. The fuel tank will stop You. The intake seal is rubber and you souldnt have any problem with it.

dzuirek is right. I've pulled 3 intercoolers and all 3 wouldn't come out unless the intake manifold was loosened. I can usually leave the front 3 bolts in and just loosen them. The seal is o-rings, so as long as you don't drop a bunch of dirt in there, they'll seal up just fine.

    Welcome to the forum.
I did mine without loosening any bolts on intake. It was a pita but it came out with some patience. The gas tank is the issue at the very last point, but will come out, or atleast on 04 rxp.

No tricks, just be patient and wiggle and jiggle.

    Hey Dejavue Greg.
Did you get that ic out yet?
It is a small world. I am the yellow rxp you ran a couple of weeks ago. It was a blast. I plan to be there again on the 2nd. Let me know if you need some help.
