    Talking The dilema

    Here's what I'm trying to figure out what to do.

    I had a 1994 SL750 that I hit the dock with and cracked the fiberglass. I bought a 1996 SLX780 with a cracked engine block but good hull. Originally I was going to use the bottom end of the 750 and the 780 pistons to make a 780. The 750 engine runs great. I tore the 780 apart and found out that the rear cylinder fried the piston and snapped the rod. The other 2 pistons are fine. So here is the problem.

    1. Do I just put the 750 engine in the 780 body and have a running jet ski and part out the 780 engine for parts.

    2. Do I put the good 780 heads on the 750 block and purchase a third head to replace the bad one and sell the three 750 heads to offset the price of the 780 cylinder.

    Either way what would be the difference in power/performance between the 2. The 750 is a 749cc and the 780 is a 779cc. If I use the 780 pistons on the 750 block how much of a power loss/gain do I expect to get. Is there really a big difference between the 750 and 780?

    Don't know were your at,but it's prime summer season,Swap motors and run this summer,plan any rebuild or modding after season. Go and Enjoy Now.

    780 cyls (92+ HP) are way different fom 750 (80 HP).

    I'm with Dan, get it going and "RUN FOREST, RUN"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
