    Gelcoat repair kit.

I'm curious if i can get a color match gelcoat repair kit somewhere other then a boat store. I only need a little bit so i don't need the big $40 kit from west marine. Any suggestions???

I don't know how big the spot is, but you can by white gel cote filler in a tube for a couple bucks. I have used it before. Picked it up at Bass Pro. Don't belive you will find a whole kit for cheaper than 40. West Marine has good prices.

It's about 6 inches long, by two inches wide. I'll probably spend the $40 at west marine. Since i can get the kit that has the yellow pigment. Thanks!!

That is actually a good size of gelcoat missing, you should also check the fiberglass structure and make sure it's solid. My best recommendation is start picking at the fiberglass, you will notice if fiberglass is not structural sound. Don't forget to get the bottle of KVA from West Marine.

What it is is a previous repair from the last owner, that i managed to damage again. It got smacked against the pier due to an idiot in the next slip over trying to drive his boat onto the trailer and causing a hell of a wake. The area of gelcoat is only cracked, but i have a feeling once i start removing the gel coat i'm gonna find more damage. Luckily it's not in a high stress area. So if i do have to add a lil fiberglass, it should hold well.

    What's KVA??
