I have an 800 bodepriest limited with Novi 44's on it and a Neptune pipe. The question I have is that I do not understand the ratio of the two little dials in the outside of each Carb. I know what they do but I don't know how much I should turn them to adjust them for each ride. Leaner, richer ect....So far I've only moved them CW or CCW no more then 1/8th of a turn and have had good results in performace as well as EGT. What does the weather have to do with it?

Cold air equals more HP. With that, a leaner fuel mixture. Very seldom will you ever have to richen your carbs in the winter, unless you are riding below 50 degrees oat. Then 1/4 to 1/2 turn out on the highs will suffice.

There is no ratio. You turn, test, adjust, retest. The engine will tell you if you are going in the right direction. Carb tuning isn't a one-time-and-you-are-done kinda deal. Once they are dialed, you will never have to touch them though.

And it's Bo's last name is Dupriest.

Thanks. I was under the impression that even little changes in weather made a large difference. I think I've got them right where I want them at 75-80 degrees according to all the stuff in this thread. As for the spelling of Bo's name I got it out on an acrticle in a PWC mag article from the mid-nineties.
